Le bon dieu, un beau jour, décida qu'il était temps
De créer le monde et tous ses habitants
Il se mit au travail et, sans perdre un instant,

Pour courir dans les champs

S'arrêta un instant, et de là-haut regarda
Au début, à vrai dire, il ne fut pas mécontent

Améliorer tout cela
Rajouter des couleurs
Un p'tit peu par-ci, par-là

On était vendredi, le bon dieu avait fini
Il jeta un regard et se dit: C'est réussi!
Mais pourtant, juste avant d'aller se reposer,
Il décida qu'il y avait quelque chose à ajouter:
Ce monde est bien joli
Mais il faudrait aussi
Que je pense à créer
Quelque chos' pour l'animer
Quelques fioritures,
Quelques créatures
Ce s'ra plus amusant
Et ça n'prendra pas longtemps!
Il faudra
Des oiseaux dans le ciel
Et aussi
Des poissons dans la mer
Sur la terre,
Il faut des animaux:
Des chats, des chiens, des poul's, des cochons, des lions, des veaux!
Le bon dieu était vraiment content!
Ce p'tit monde était plutôt joli
Mais hélas! Dans un dernier élan
Il créa l'Homme et, depuis, le bon dieu a des soucis!

This world is very pretty

And it won't take long!

We need animals:
Cats, dogs, chickens, pigs, lions, calves!
The good Lord was really happy!
This little world was rather pretty
But alas! In a final flourish
