Talking in person should always come first and the search for the perfect life is an absurd thing

Getting green eyes from other's lives isn't the one
I've seen people take lone selfies, in a pub
And bang it online saying that they're living it up
It's a moment in time, a snapchat if you will
That person with 500 likes is actually still
A human - capable of torment and depression
And often the ones who look happiest are the stressed ones
You can get above that
Just find what you love, and never look back
And the problem is always to get enough cash
Avoid bad debt and loans they'll get you in crap
You've gotta ignore what the rest do
They won't arrest you for making the best moves
But they expect you to fall in line, get a mortgage and find
That you and yours are in debt for all of your life

We have this obsession with celebrity
Like these people are better than us cos they're on a telly screen
And if we see em in real life
We feel like they're a walking God and we're mere shite
But these people deal with crap like you
Pay their tax like you, but they don't act like you
Cos their face is recognisable and everywhere they go
A few people will stop em and try and take a photo
And if they say no then they're the bad guys
But next time you're out shopping or it's snack time
Ask yourself if you'd like to be stopped for a bit
By someone you don't know so you can pose for a pic
There are people whose dream in life is to be famous
Not for anything they've done they're just obsessed with the status
Think they'll get in the papers
Cos they've got a few followers on Twitter or on Facebook
So switch it off
Cos it'll only serve to piss you off
You can get a few likes who gives a toss?
Scrolling and scrolling through your Insta... what?
Go and breathe some fresh air
Before you're looking at life with a death stare
To overthrow the masses they need you comatose and placid
So they can rule their tax haven from a deck chair

Which is impossible with the speed time goes
And I know cos when I looked before I wasn't right old
Not quite bald but recession's taken its hold
And I'm not as hungry to make as sit in my home
And my hope is just live well and die knowing
I did everything I wanted to do with life though
I can't ever see me accepting that
Cos I'm certain once it's curtains all that's next is black
I'd be the first male on my Dad's side to make 70
I'm half way through right now that'll never be
Enough, cos there's everything I love
And there's everything I should do, could do, potentially I would
But, getting old's the obstacle
Try avoid the hospital
Cos anything is possible and many things are probable
But death is unstoppable, yours the least horrible
So write yourself a bucket list and get up off that bottom groove

immer anders ist als die, wie du sie kennst?

Persönliche Gespräche sollten immer an erster Stelle stehen, und die Suche nach dem perfekten Leben ist absurd
Die Liebe wird dich finden, wenn du tust, was du liebst
Neidisch auf das Leben anderer zu sein, ist nicht das Wahre
Ich habe Leute gesehen, die alleine Selfies machen, in einer Kneipe
Und es online stellen und sagen, dass sie das Leben genießen
Es ist ein Moment in der Zeit, ein Snapchat, wenn du so willst
Diese Person mit 500 Likes ist tatsächlich immer noch
ein Mensch - fähig zu Qualen und Depressionen
Und oft sind die, die am glücklichsten aussehen, die gestressten
Du kannst darüber hinwegkommen
Finde einfach, was du liebst, und schaue nie zurück
Und das Problem ist immer, genug Geld zu bekommen
Vermeide Schulden und Kredite, sie bringen dich in Schwierigkeiten
Du musst ignorieren, was die anderen tun
Sie werden dich nicht verhaften, weil du die besten Entscheidungen triffst
Aber sie erwarten, dass du dich anpasst, eine Hypothek aufnimmst und feststellst
dass du und deine Lieben für den Rest deines Lebens verschuldet seid

Wir haben diese Besessenheit von Berühmtheit
Als ob diese Leute besser wären als wir, weil sie auf einem Fernsehbildschirm sind
Und wenn wir sie im wirklichen Leben sehen
fühlen wir uns, als wären sie ein wandelnder Gott und wir bloß Mist
Aber diese Leute haben mit Mist zu kämpfen, genau wie du
Zahlen ihre Steuern wie du, aber sie verhalten sich nicht wie du
Weil ihr Gesicht erkennbar ist und überall, wo sie hingehen
ein paar Leute sie anhalten und versuchen, ein Foto zu machen
Und wenn sie nein sagen, dann sind sie die Bösen
Aber nächstes Mal, wenn du einkaufen bist oder es Zeit für einen Snack ist
frag dich, ob du gerne für eine Weile angehalten werden möchtest
von jemandem, den du nicht kennst, damit du für ein Bild posieren kannst
Es gibt Leute, deren Lebenstraum es ist, berühmt zu werden
Nicht für irgendetwas, das sie getan haben, sie sind einfach besessen vom Status
Denken, sie kommen in die Zeitungen
Weil sie ein paar Follower auf Twitter oder Facebook haben
Also schalte es aus
Weil es dich nur ärgern wird
Du kannst ein paar Likes bekommen, wen kümmert's?
Scrollen und scrollen durch dein Insta... was?
Geh und atme etwas frische Luft
Bevor du das Leben mit einem Todesblick betrachtest
Um die Massen zu stürzen, brauchen sie dich komatös und ruhig
Damit sie ihr Steuerparadies von einem Liegestuhl aus regieren können

Was unmöglich ist mit der Geschwindigkeit, mit der die Zeit vergeht
Und ich weiß es, denn als ich das letzte Mal schaute, war ich nicht richtig alt
Nicht ganz kahl, aber die Rezession hat ihre Spuren hinterlassen
Und ich bin nicht mehr so hungrig darauf, etwas zu machen, wie in meinem Zuhause zu sitzen
Und meine Hoffnung ist, einfach gut zu leben und zu sterben, wissend
dass ich alles getan habe, was ich im Leben tun wollte
Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, das jemals zu akzeptieren
Weil ich sicher bin, dass, sobald der Vorhang fällt, nur noch Schwärze kommt
Ich wäre der erste Mann auf der Seite meines Vaters, der 70 wird
Ich bin jetzt auf halbem Weg, das wird niemals sein
genug, denn es gibt alles, was ich liebe
Und es gibt alles, was ich tun sollte, tun könnte, potenziell tun würde
Aber, das Älterwerden ist das Hindernis
Versuche, das Krankenhaus zu vermeiden
Denn alles ist möglich und vieles ist wahrscheinlich
Aber der Tod ist unaufhaltsam, deiner der am wenigsten schreckliche
Also schreibe dir eine Löffelliste und erhebe dich aus dieser Trägheit
