每天必經那條商店街道
依舊繁忙
我搬出的小公寓套房
已經住了陌生的女郎
躺在床上看著天花板
她是否一樣失望
再次出走

離開了寄居的城邦

I am on the first outgoing long distance coach
Driving out from the dark train station
Sitting with more than ten tired passengers
Nobody talks
Endless desolate scenery outside the window
The sky is a cloudless blue
The sun shines on this straight railway
It's very hot
Sitting on the back seat of the carriage
I see the scenery getting smaller and smaller
My vision looks toward the world of the past
But my body is running toward the future
Going away again
Putting behind me my tired past
Leaving the city where I had settled
I want to go to somewhere even stranger
Carrying my old luggage
I experience excitement and anxiety
Wandering is a test of the soul
Repeated impermanent gatherings and departures
One station after another
I stand by the diner at the midway station
I drink unsweetened iced black tea
I recall the puppy that my neighbor raised
It was a lazy sleeper
The small restaurant where I usually had dinner
Probably hasn't closed yet
The shopping street that I passed every day
Is still busy
The small apartment suite where I moved out of
Is already occupied by a strange woman
Lying in bed looking at the ceiling
I wonder if she is equally disappointed
Going away again
Putting behind me my tired past
Leaving the city where I had settled
I want to go to somewhere even stranger
Carrying a long shadow
I experience excitement and anxiety
Wandering is a test of the soul
Perhaps one day I will grow accustomed to it
