רוּחַ מִן הֶהָרִים צוֹעֵק,
הוּא עוֹמֵד בַּחַלּוֹן,
מֻטּוֹת כְּנָפָיו עַל הֶהָרִים
מַקּוֹרוֹ שָׂרוּעַ;
מָה הָרוּחַ עַל הֶהָרִים,
מָה הָרוּחַ בֵּין שִׁנֵּי הַתַּנִּים,
מָה הַתַּנִּים הַמַּבְלִיחִים
כְּגֶחָלִים בַּלַּיְלָה?
מִי אוֹהֵב אוֹתִי עַל הֶהָרִים,
מִי מְדַלֵּג בַּגְּבָעוֹת,
מִי נוֹפֵל בַּתְּהוֹמוֹת
עַל כַּנְפֵי הָרוּחַ?
הִנֵּה אִישׁ גָּדוֹל כֶּהָרִים
הִנֵּה אִישׁ רְבָבָה
אִישׁ שָׁחוֹר וְנִפְלָא
עַל כַּנְפֵי הָרוּחַ.
רוּחַ צוֹעֵק מִן הֶהָרִים,
רוּחַ גּוֹלֵשׁ מִן הֶהָרִים,
אִישׁ אוֹהֵב אוֹתִי עַל הֶהָרִים
עַל כַּנְפֵי הָרוּחַ.
כָּל הָרוּחַ יָבוֹא בְּאַפִּי
כָּל הָרוּחַ לֹא יִשּׂם וְלֹא יִשְׁרֹק,
וְאָשִׂים חַחִי בְּאַפּוֹ
עַל הֶהָרִים
בַּלַּיְלָה.

Wind howls

A wind from the mountains wails,
It stands at the window,
The length of its wings over the mountains
Its mouth agape;
What is the wind in the mountains,
What is the wind between the dragons' teeth,
What are the dragons that gleam
Like embers in the night?
Who loves me in the mountains,
Who leaps on the hills,
Who falls in the chasms
On the wings of the wind?
Behold a man great as the mountains
Behold a man of ten thousand
A man black and wonderful
On the wings of the wind.
A wind howls from the mountains,
A wind rolls from the mountains,
A man loves me in the mountains
On the wings of the wind.
All the wind shall come in my nostrils
All the wind shall not blow nor whistle,
And I will set my hook in his nose
In the mountains
