She came from the village from a warm home in the Jerusalem Mountains
I met her on the beach of golden dunes in the desert
For seven years I worked for her, a friend on the outside, a lover on the inside
Once in a while, she would give me her hand, but never her heart.
When I left on my journey, she tied a bracelet around my wrist
It was on me for years until it tore and was lost
I still keep the picture she drew for me on the wall
White star, diamond, opal stone.
One day she appeared in my room, a four-square-meter space
I had room there for a bed, not a double bed, and an ashtray
She said she wanted sanctuary, I said: "Yes, of course"
And that night, her demons broke out on me.
And so, night after night, I stand before her helpless
As she angrily moves the few pieces of furniture
And again moves pictures from wall to wall
White star, diamond, opal stone.
She floods the floor with water and says: "It's dirty here, it's dirty
