La primera vez que estuve en la feria de san vitoco
El grito de los venteros casi que me vuelve loco
Yo venia muy asustado porque nunca había asistido
A un sitio de multitudes como lo es san Victorino

No podía ni caminar por no estar acostumbrado
A andar aquí en la ciudad donde hay tanto atravesado
Yo veía que mi papa se estaba poniendo bravo
Por que yo jalaba ruana y al verme como quedado

Y oiga que van a llevar, venga mire sumersé
Nos ofrecían ropa grande y ropa para bebé
Zapatos, sombrero y ruana y mucho para escoger
Me decían que están buscando que aquí podemos tener
Yo le dije Quiero un baño que estoy cansado de recorrer. (Bis)

Después paramos a ver a esos que venden la loza
Que la tiran para arriba y la golpean una con otra
Ese día vi muchas cosas y observe mil profesiones
Y esos que juegan tapita disque son estafadores

Y otros que no venden nada le andan poniendo cuidado
A aquellos que andan de compras y a veces embelezados
Es la gente que en manada van cerrándonos el paso
Y por debajo e la ruana van metiéndonos la mano

Y ese día hice un juramento de ojala nunca volver
A frecuentar algún sitio que un mal recuerdo me dé
No olvido que mi papá ya casi al anochecer
Andaba hasta sin sombrero, sin plata para comer
Y en ese momento triste fue cuando mas anhelé
Volver a mi pueblo lindo donde su feria distinta es. (bis)

THE SAN VICTORINO FAIR

The first time I went to the San Vitoco fair,
The vendors' shouting nearly drove me crazy.
I came quite scared, having never been
To a place as crowded as San Victorino.

I couldn't even walk, not being used
To walking here in the city, where there are so many obstacles.
I saw that my father was getting angry
Because I was pulling his ruana, looking lost and confused.

"Hey, what are you going to buy? Come, look around!"
They offered us clothes for adults and babies.
Shoes, hats, ruanas, so much to choose from.
They told me, "What are you looking for? We might have it here."
I said, "I want a bathroom, I'm tired of walking around." (Repeat)

Later, we stopped to see those who sell dishes,
Throwing them up and banging them against each other.
That day I saw many things and observed a thousand professions,
And those who play with bottle caps, they say they're scammers.

And others who don't sell anything, they keep an eye
On those who are shopping, sometimes mesmerized.
It's the people in the crowd, blocking our way,
And under the ruana, they're putting their hands in our pockets.

And that day I made a vow to never again,
Frequent any place that gives me a bad memory.
I don't forget that my father, almost at nightfall,
Was even without a hat, without money to eat.
