Veio uma mulher da Samaria buscar água na fonte de Jacó
Jesus, cansado da viagem, sentou-se junto à fonte
Era por volta do meio-dia
E Jesus disse à mulher: dá-me de beber

Os seus discípulos tinham ido à cidade comprar algo para comer
E a samaritana disse a Jesus
Como é que tu, sendo judeu, pedes de beber a mim
Que sou uma mulher samaritana?
De fato, os judeus não se relacionam com os samaritanos

Jesus respondeu
Se conhecesses o dom de Deus
E quem é que lhe diz dá-me de beber, tu lhe pedirias
E ele te daria água viva

A mulher disse
Senhor, não tem sequer um balde e poço é fundo
De onde tens essa água viva?
Serás maior que nosso pai Jacó
Que nos deu este poço, do qual bebeu ele mesmo
Como também seus filhos e seus animais

E Jesus respondeu
Todo o que beber dessa agua tera sede de novo
Mas quem beber da agua que eu darei, nunca mais terá sede
Porque a água que eu darei se tornará nele uma fonte de água
Jorrando para a vida eterna

A mulher disse então a Jesus
Senhor, dá-me dessa água
Para que eu não tenha mais seed
Nem tenha de vir aqui tirar água

Senhor, somos como esta mulher
Sedentos de ti, da água viva
SIm, senhor, nos temos sede de ti
Nós temos sede de Deus

O homem tem sede de Deus
As nossas buscas desregradas, desenfreadas
Pelo prazer, pelo poder
É porque nós temos sede, senhor, sede de ti

Estamos assim, sentados à beira do poço
Querendo água, buscando em poços com água suja
Saciar essa sede
Mas agora sabemos que só tu pode nos dar água viva
Água que jorrará para a vida eterna
É essa água que nós queremos senhor
É essa água que eu quero, senhor

Muitos de nós no caminho desanimaram
Muitos de nós no caminho desistira
Muitos de nós, após bebermos dessa água
Não voltamos ao poço para beber novamente

A woman of Samaria came to draw water from Jacob's well
Jesus, tired from the journey, sat down by the well
It was about noon
And Jesus said to the woman, "Give me a drink."

His disciples had gone into town to buy food
And the Samaritan woman said to Jesus,
"You are a Jew and you ask me for a drink?
I am a Samaritan woman.”
Jews, in fact, do not associate with Samaritans.

Jesus answered
"If you knew the gift of God
And who it is that says to you, 'Give me a drink,' you would have asked him,
And he would have given you living water."

The woman said
"Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep.
Where do you get this living water?
Are you greater than our father Jacob,
Who gave us this well, and drank from it himself,
As did also his sons and his livestock?"

Jesus answered
"Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again,
But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst.
The water that I shall give him will become in him a spring of water
Welling up to eternal life.”

The woman said to Jesus
"Sir, give me this water,
So that I will not be thirsty
Nor have to come here to draw.”

Lord, we are like this woman
Thirsty for you, for living water
Yes, Lord, we thirst for you
We thirst for God

Man thirsts for God
Our unruly, unbridled pursuits
For pleasure, for power
It is because we are thirsty, Lord, thirsty for you

We are thus, sitting by the well
Wanting water, looking in wells with dirty water
To quench this thirst
But now we know that only you can give us living water
Water that will well up to eternal life
It is this water that we want, Lord
It is this water that I want, Lord

Many of us have become discouraged along the way
Many of us have given up along the way
Many of us, after drinking this water
Have not gone back to the well to drink again
And today, Lord, we want to return to this well
And drink the water that quenches our thirst

Lord, pour out your spirit on us
