Once upon a time, in a little shop in Al-Fi area,
Girls and boys used to come and play around happily,
And that drunkard would sit behind the shop,
Singing and making the girl next door sad.
But hey, don't you forget me, and remember that drunkard
We used to roam the neighborhood with the birds
Flying up to that shop with handfuls of flowers
And that drunkard would be entertained by us
And would draw the girl next door on the walls
The pretty girl next door left on an Eid night
And the shop was demolished and a new house was built,
But that drunkard is still haunting the walls of oblivion
Drawing the girl next door.
