There once was a King in Thule
So faithful until his grave
His mistress gave him a goblet
When she met her watery grave
He cared for nothing more
He'd empty it with every meal

And as his death drew near
He counted all his cities grand
He left them all to his heirs
But the goblet he kept in his hand

He sat down at the Royal Feast
The knights were all around
In his ancestral hall of stone
That stood there by the sea
There stood the old man
And drank his final cup
And threw the golden goblet
Down into the water's keep

He watched it spin and sink
And disappear into the deep
His eyes grew heavy and closed
He never took another sip
