I have dear friends who've adopted children
And they said the hardest part was filling out (child of God)
The questionnaire asking you
What kind of challenges you're willing to live with
What kind of disabilities (child of God), as the world would call them
You're okay with in a child that you're going to adopt?

Like are you (child of God) okay if they can't walk, if they're paralyzed
If they're in a wheelchair, and you've got to push them?
Are you okay if they can't eat and they have a feeding tube?
Are you okay if they have some mental disabilities
They're not able to learn, or they (child of God) lack in cognitive functions
Their brain's not working as, uh, a normal brain would?
Are those things (child of God) that you're alright with?
And you think, "Man, if I don't choose that child, who will? (Child of God)
If I say, I'm not okay with that
Then what's going to happen to that person, that living being?"

What I love when I'm thinking about God adopting us is that He says
"I'll take that one (child of God), I'll take the one that's stuck in pornography
Like a dog to his vomit (child of God), he keeps going back to his sin
I'll take her when she's starving herself
I'll take the one who looks in the mirror (child of God)
And hates what she sees

I'll take the person who sits with the razor blade cutting their arm
I'll take the one who, who constantly thinks of themselves
Walks into a room and wonders
What everybody is saying about them
Or thinking about them (child of God)
They're enslaved to their insecurity"

And the list goes on and on and on and on
There's no disqualifying (child of God) disability that the Lord turns away
There's no one (child of God) that God says
"Oh, they're too far gone, I can't save them
Jesus' blood is not enough, that He didn't die for them"
Anyone who would trust in the death (child of God) and the resurrection
Of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins
Can be adopted as God's (child of God) children

We can be His kids, not His slaves, not His workers (child of God)
Not people who are trying to earn our allowance
Not someone who's trying to earn a wage
But women and men (child of God)
Who have been adopted by the creator of the heavens and the Earth
To be His children (child of God), to call Him, "Abba, Father"

Ich nehme sie, wenn sie sich selbst aushungert
Ich nehme diejenige, die in den Spiegel schaut (Kind Gottes)
Und hasst, was sie sieht

Ich nehme die Person, die mit der Rasierklinge dasitzt und sich den Arm aufschneidet
Ich nehme denjenigen, der, der ständig an sich selbst denkt
Einen Raum betritt und sich fragt
Was jeder über ihn sagt
Oder über ihn denkt (Kind Gottes)
Er ist seiner Unsicherheit versklavt“

Und die Liste geht weiter und weiter und weiter und weiter
Es gibt keine disqualifizierende (Kind Gottes) Behinderung, wegen der der Herr jemanden abweist
Es gibt niemanden (Kind Gottes), von dem Gott sagt
„Oh, sie sind zu weit weg, ich kann sie nicht retten
Jesu Blut ist nicht genug, dass Er nicht für sie gestorben ist“
Jeder, der auf den Tod (Kind Gottes) und die Auferstehung
Jesu Christi zur Vergebung der Sünden vertraut
Kann als Gottes (Kind Gottes) Kinder adoptiert werden

Wir können Seine Kinder sein, nicht Seine Sklaven, nicht Seine Arbeiter (Kind Gottes)
Nicht Menschen, die versuchen, unser Taschengeld zu verdienen
Nicht jemand, der versucht, einen Lohn zu verdienen
Sondern Frauen und Männer (Kind Gottes)
Die vom Schöpfer des Himmels und der Erde adoptiert wurden
Um Seine Kinder (Kind Gottes) zu sein, um Ihn „Abba, Vater“ zu nennen
