Oh they soon captured Johnny Brown his world of travels nearly round
In his cottage all rough and tumbled

On a stone in a churchyard here in town lies here poor old Johnny
Brown, his music echoes silent now... as he played the Sally Gardens

Krone und Beifall von allen Nachbarn.
Er spielte für die Lords und Ladies alle und bei Totenwachen und Hochzeiten, groß und
klein, für die tanzenden Mädchen im
Dorfgemeinschaftshaus... er spielte die Sally Gardens.

Oh, bald holte das Schicksal Johnny Brown ein, seine Weltreise war fast zu
Ende, in seiner Hütte, ganz rau und
verfallen bei den wilden und rauen Bergen.
Auf einem Stein auf einem Friedhof hier in der Stadt liegt hier der arme alte Johnny
Brown, seine Musik hallt nun still wider... wie er die Sally Gardens spielte.
