Y la flor naciendo dijo
Quiero ver la claridad

Y dormía el universo entero
Y el silencio hablaba sólo de sí mismo

La esperanza andaba muy despacio
Esperando alguna mente amiga
Y volaba cruzando el espacio
Encontrado soledad por donde iba

Y unas criaturas vagas
Desde el cielo han descender
Nos dijeron a somos nieves
Y bailamos al caer

Ciertamente aquél primer verano
Nació el mar de dos gotitas que se amaban
Por regar la flor nació el llanto
Del silencio triste se hizo el canto

Ciertamente aquella hermosa mañana
Por la sed de un niño comenzó la lluvia
Por su hambre de inocente el pan se hizo
Para dar sabor al pan la sal se hizo

To show herself beautiful to the universe

And the light finally came
And annulled the darkness
And the flower, being born, said
I want to see the clarity

I wasn't there, or perhaps I was
When there was only a great emptiness
And the whole universe slept
And the silence spoke only of itself

Hope walked very slowly
Waiting for a friendly mind
And flew across space
Finding loneliness wherever it went

And vague creatures
Have descended from the sky
They told us we are snow
And we danced as we fell

Certainly that first summer
The sea was born from two drops that loved each other
The tears were born to water the flower
From the sad silence, song was made

Certainly that beautiful morning
The rain began with the thirst of a child
Bread was made for his innocent hunger
And salt was made to give flavor to the bread
