On a Moonlit Night

I take a slight detour on our usual path,
counting the stars as I walk.
From a gap in the clouds, a single shooting star.
Without thinking, I reach out and take your hand.

“If only we could stay like this forever,”
such a fleeting wish I sing to the shooting star.

It's funny, isn't it... From the day we were born,
it was decided that we would return to the sky.
