רוח סתיו אל הדרכים הביאה הבטחות
של ימים טובים עומדים בפתח
ויונה תמימה נושאת ענף למזל טוב
ושלמים שלווים פני השמים

ועוברת לה חולפת עוד עונה ועוד תקופה
והעולם כמנהגו נוהג ומשתנה בתוך שבוע
ואני עומד תמה מתקשה קצת להבין
אבל אף פעם לא אדע, ולפני סיבה להאמין

Autumn wind to the window brings visions
Of cold days and of fallen leaves
And at home again my nose sticks to the window panes
And Cheshvan pushes out the summer's heat

Like a leaf that flutters in the wind
So thoughts drift
Towards a sun on a vacation
And a moon that set in the winter
And a small forgotten tree
Huddling in the shade of spring
And a weary wind bears a burden
Wearily until spring

Autumn's wind to the roads brought promises
Of good days that stand at the door
And an innocent dove carries a branch for good luck
And the face of heaven is calm and whole

And a season passes by, and another period of time
And the world as its wont is wont to behave, and changes within a week
And I stand wondering, finding it a little hard to understand
But I'll never know, nor have I a reason to believe

Autumn wind enlightened thoughts, and that's not enough for it
