לכבוד הקיץ שהגיע
כתבתי שיר
אמנם אני עוד לא מזיע
אבל איני מסתיר
את תשוקתי אל העונה
ששמה קץ לקור
ולכבודה עם עפרון
כתבתי שיר מזמור

עם בגד ים יצאתי פעם אל חוף ביום אביב
שמיכה מבד, עיתון ביד ושמש מסביב
מצאתי חול פנוי מכל אדם ובהמה
ואת עצמי פרקדתי בין ים ליבשה

גלים על פני המים
ושקט של שמים
חלום אביב עולה
ואותי הוא ממלא

מציל בטל שכב בצל, השגיח על הנוף
ושתי זקנות על כסאות אמרו לו בוקר טוב
אדון פועל המתעמל פשט מכנס שחור
הוריד חולצה, נתן קפיצה וסלטה לאחור

גלים על פני המים
ושקט של שמים
חלום אביב עולה
ואותי הוא ממלא

הגיע זוג שבא לדוג עם אוהל מידי
בנו ביתם אל מול גולן, שני מטר לידי
ובינתיים אל המים רצו קיטנים
עשרים וארבע ילדות ושנים עשר בנים

ושקט של שמים
חלום אביב עולה
ואותי הוא ממלא

אחרי שעה הכל הפך לנחלת הרוב
ארטיקים מתלקקים ומטקות על החוף
והחלום שבא פתאום נגנז ונעלם
השאיר אותי למנוחתי עם אלף איש בים

ואותי הוא ממלא

For the Summer

For the summer that's here,
I wrote a song.
Even though I'm not sweating yet,
I won't hide
My passion for the season
That puts an end to the cold.
And in its honor, with a pencil,
I wrote a song, a hymn.

Once upon a spring day, I went to the beach in my swimsuit.
A cotton blanket, a newspaper in hand, and sunshine all around.
I found an empty patch of sand, free from people and animals,
And I set myself up between the sea and the shore.

Waves on the water's face
And the calm of the heavens
A spring dream arises
And it fills me.

A lifeguard under the shade of a tree kept watch over the scene,
And two old ladies in chairs wished him good morning.
A laborer exercising stripped off his black pants,
Took off his shirt, took a running jump, and somersaulted backward.

A couple arrived to fish with an instant tent.
They built their home facing the Golan Heights, two meters from me.
Meanwhile, little ones ran into the water,
Twenty-four girls and twelve boys.

After an hour, everything became a public domain.
Popsicles being licked and paddleball on the shore.
And the dream that came suddenly faded and disappeared,
Leaving me to rest with a thousand people in the sea.
