Dans un bar éclairé d′un néon presque rose
Tenu par un garçon encore tout endormi

L′amour s'en est allé bien qu′à peine cueilli

In a bar lit by an almost rosy neon light
Run by a boy still half asleep
Who poured her a half pint without even looking
She sat, waiting for something to happen
A glance at her watch, a glance outside
She was nervous, reapplying her lipstick
Putting on too much makeup, sweating with fever
And the anticipation was already making her body tremble

But tonight, this morning, the neon on her makeup
Accused her features too much, gave her a pallid air
