Ich wachte morgens auf, es war ein Donnerstag gegen halb zehn
Frisch gewaschen, rasiert, gekämmt undsoweiter, bereit auf die Straße zu gehn
Sah ich noch schnell aus dem Fenster und da war mir eigentlich klar
Dass dieser Tag von vorn′herein schon total im Eimer war
Kein Regen, kein Schnee, keine Sonne, kein Wind
Alles grau, schwül und stickig, die Fensterscheiben staubblind
Eine Stadt, in der Alles stinkt, wo Alles spuckt und kracht und raucht
Eine Stadt, deren Namen man nicht zu kennen und die man nie gesehen zu haben braucht
Langeweile ist ausgebrochen in der Stadt
Kommt angekrochen und sie hat keine Eile
Ich beschloss dann doch gegenüber in den kleinen Laden zu geh'n
Um billig, aber gut, ein Tässchen Kaffee zu trinken im Steh′n
Ein Schaufenster mit Fernsehern drin liegt auch gleich nebenan
Wo man das Programm zwar sehr gut sehen, aber den Ton nicht hören kann
Ein Politiker auf dem Bildschirm sprach, klappte den Mund auf und zu
Der Mann neben mir verstand kein Wort und glotzte auf's Bild wie 'ne Kuh
Ein and′rer bekam einen Lachkrampf, im Gesicht schon ganz rot und schweißnass
Ein Taubstummer, der dem Politiker jedes Wort von den Lippen las
Eine Straße weiter an der Haltestelle sah ich die Nachbarstochter steh′n
So um die vierzehn, aber sehr reif für ihr Alter und nicht gerade schön
Ich fragte: "Wie ist das wehrte Befinden, zu Hause alles gesund und froh?"
Sie meinte: "Ich soll nicht mit Ihnen sprechen, mein Vater will das so!"
Ich sagte: "Hör ruhig auf deinen Vater, das ist ein sehr kluger Mann
Ich bin ein Strolch, das hat er erkannt, keine Angst, dich fass ich nicht an!
Geh schön nach Hause zu deinen Papi, sag, ich hätte dich geschickt
Sag ihm, sobald er sich blicken lässt wird er von mir gef... ragt, ob er nicht auch mal jung gewesen ist."

Kommt angekrochen und sie hat keine Eile
Ich ging durch den Fußgängertunnel zum Konrad-Kennedy-Platz
Kam 'raus aus dem Tunnel und schon war ich wieder drin mit einem Satz
Plötzlich überall Leute, die rannten und weinten und schrien, ich weiß nicht mehr was
Berittene Polizisten dazwischen mit Knüppeln und Tränengas
Von hinten gestoßen rannte ich auch, immer die Angst im Genick,
Und rettete mich mit ein paar Ander′n in das Tor irgendeiner Fabrik
Wir ruhten uns aus, es war gerade kein Polizist in der Nähe, bloß
Kam jetzt der Pförtner aus seinem Kasten mit 'ner Krücke auf uns los
Dieser Pförtner, Kriegsinvalide, hatte nur noch einen Arm
Ein Bein, ein Auge, ein Ohr und einen Plastikdarm
Und während ihm aus dem rechten Ärmel ein krummer Eisenhaken stand
Besaß er dafür auf der linken Seite sechs Finger an der Hand
Er brabbelte was von: "...verrecken, ...vergasen", den ganzen Stuss
Die Scheiße, die sich unsereiner seit Jahren immer wieder anhören muss
Und während er noch tobte stand hinter ihm plötzlich ein Bulle, der den Knüppel schwang
Der schlug zu, dass die silberne Schädelplatte als sie barst, wie die Freiheitsglocke klang
Langeweile ist ausgebrochen in der Stadt
Kommt angekrochen und sie hat keine Eile
Ich floh in den Stadtpark, setzte mich und wischte mir erstmal den Schweiß
Und da saß einer mit ner Gitarre und spielte: "Don′t Think Twice"
Ein dicker Mann, der gutmütig wie ein satter Bernhardiner aussah
Hörte ihm zu und ich döste ein, weil hier alles so friedlich war
Ich träumte, dass ich Bob Dylan fragte, was er von meinen Liedern hält
Und obwohl er sich erst wand wie ein Aal, hätte er mir vielleicht was erzählt
Aber da war plötzlich der Parkwächter da und weckte mich ziemlich roh
Meine Frage wird wohl nie beantwortet werden – ist vielleicht auch besser so
Ich döste noch vor mich hin, hatte die Idee und dann
Wusste ich wie ich sämtliche Kriege auf der Stelle beenden kann
Und ich hätte auch alles getan, doch zu meiner Schande muss ich gesteh'n
Dass ich alles vergaß, weil ich Zahnschmerzen bekam und da helfen mir keine Ideen
Ich rannte mit dem Kopf gegen einen Baum, halb wahnsinnig vor Schmerz
Ich besoff mich und betäubte den Zahn, mein Hirn, meine Seele, mein Herz
Schlich wieder weiter durch die Straßen, die Füße wurden mir schwer
Es war dunkel geworden, der Tag zu Ende, und ich wusste von gar nichts mehr
Langeweile ist ausgebrochen in der Stadt
Kommt angekrochen und sie hat keine Eile
Ich tastete mich langsam an den Häuserwänden entlang
Und stand dann vor einer Art Puff mit Wein und Krawattenzwang
Ein Besoffener tauschte meine Zigaretten gegen seine Krawatte ein
Ich band sie um, bezahlte Eintritt und ging voller Erwartung rein
Die Strpteasetänzerin hüpfte über die Bühne wie ein Schrat
Und ich wunderte mich, dass sie dabei nicht auf ihren Busen trat
Und ich beschwerte mich und der Kellner meinte: "Dass sie schön ist behaupten wir ja nicht
Dafür liegt ihr Intelligenzquotient bei hundertneunzig und darauf legt man heute wieder viel mehr Gewicht!"
Ich kam nach Hause als draußen ein dreckiger, warmer Regen fiel
Wieder ein Tag kaputt, ohne Freude, ohne Sinn, ohne Ziel
Und bis alles so läuft, wie ich′s haben will werden sicher noch Jahre vergeh'n
Aber ich gebe die Hoffnung nicht auf, mal bessere Tage zu seh'n
Ich denke, ich werde irgendwann noch vernünftige Dinge tun
Zum Beispiel, meinen Samen auf die Spermenbank tragen ab nun
Und nicht sterben bis jedes Kind, das du auf der Straße siehst
Von meinem Blut und nach meinem Bilde angefertigt ist
Übrigens habe ich neulich noch eine Wahrsagerin befragt
Wie′s denn mit meinem Ende stünde und darauf hat sie gesagt
Ich dürfte als ur-uralter Greis, Haar und Bart eisgrau
In meiner Badewanne sterben, in den Armen einer schönen Frau

Boredom

I woke up in the morning, it was a Thursday around half past nine
Freshly washed, shaved, combed and so on, ready to hit the street
I took a quick glance out the window and it was pretty clear to me
That this day was totally screwed from the get-go
No rain, no snow, no sun, no wind
Everything grey, humid and stuffy, the window panes dusty blind
A city where everything stinks, where everything spits and cracks and smokes
A city whose name you don't need to know and you never need to have seen
Boredom has broken out in the city
It comes crawling and it's in no hurry
I decided to go to the small shop across the street
To drink a cheap but good cup of coffee standing up
There's also a shop window with TVs right next door
Where you can see the program very well, but can't hear the sound
A politician on the screen was talking, opening and closing his mouth
The man next to me didn't understand a word and stared at the picture like a cow
Another one got a fit of laughter, his face already red and sweaty
A deaf-mute who read every word from the politician's lips
One street further at the bus stop I saw the neighbor's daughter standing
About fourteen, but very mature for her age and not exactly beautiful
I asked: "How are you feeling, everyone at home healthy and happy?"
She said: "I'm not supposed to talk to you, my father wants it that way!"
I said: "Listen to your father, he's a very wise man
I'm a rascal, he recognized that, don't worry, I won't touch you!
Go home to your daddy, tell him I sent you
Tell him as soon as he shows up I'll f... ask him if he's ever been young too."

I went through the pedestrian tunnel to Konrad-Kennedy-Platz
Came out of the tunnel and I was back in with a jump
Suddenly people everywhere running and crying and screaming, I don't remember what
Mounted police in between with batons and tear gas
Pushed from behind, I ran too, always the fear in the back of my neck,
And with a few others I saved myself in the gate of some factory
We rested, there was just no policeman nearby, just
Now the gatekeeper came out of his box with a crutch towards us
This gatekeeper, a war invalid, had only one arm left
One leg, one eye, one ear and a plastic intestine
And while a crooked iron hook stuck out of his right sleeve
He had six fingers on his left hand
He babbled something about: "...croak, ...gas", all the crap
The shit that we have to listen to again and again for years
And while he was still raging, a cop suddenly stood behind him, swinging his baton
He struck so that the silver skull plate as it burst, sounded like the Liberty Bell
Boredom has broken out in the city

I fled to the city park, sat down and wiped the sweat off my face first
And there was someone sitting with a guitar playing: "Don't Think Twice"
A fat man who looked good-natured like a well-fed St. Bernard
Listened to him and I dozed off because everything was so peaceful here
I dreamed that I asked Bob Dylan what he thought of my songs
And although he wriggled like an eel at first, he might have told me something
But then suddenly the park warden was there and woke me up rather roughly
My question will probably never be answered - maybe it's better that way
I dozed on, had the idea and then
I knew how I could end all wars on the spot
And I would have done anything, but to my shame I must confess
That I forgot everything because I got a toothache and no ideas help me there
I ran my head against a tree, half insane with pain
I got drunk and numbed the tooth, my brain, my soul, my heart
I wandered on through the streets, my feet grew heavy
It had grown dark, the day was over, and I knew nothing anymore
Boredom has broken out in the city

I slowly felt my way along the walls of the houses
And then I stood in front of a kind of brothel with wine and tie compulsion
A drunkard traded my cigarettes for his tie
I tied it on, paid the entrance fee and went in full of expectation
The striptease dancer hopped across the stage like a goblin
And I wondered how she didn't step on her breasts
And I complained and the waiter said: "We don't claim that she's beautiful
But her IQ is one hundred and ninety and that's what people put a lot more emphasis on these days!"
I came home as a dirty, warm rain fell outside
Another day broken, without joy, without meaning, without aim
And until everything goes the way I want it to, years will surely pass
But I don't give up hope of seeing better days sometime
I think I will do sensible things sometime
For example, carry my seed to the sperm bank from now on
And not die until every child you see on the street
