In my old neighborhood I had a friend
who knew how to play the accordion
when he sang he was just like the sun
in his hands the accordion lit up like fire

But one dark night like all the others
he was playing the accordion and keeping watch
fascist trucks stopped at the fence
and a burst of gunfire stopped the accordion

The slogan he started always stays with me
whenever I hear an accordion since then
and it has branded my life
fascism shall not pass
