Nebi vezmu půlku duhy
A z ní dám si róbu šít,
Vždyť módním vzorem prý jsou pruhy
A já přece musím s módou jít.
Duha, to je látka vzácná,
Když ji slunce naleští
A ten, kdo ji chce mít,
Musí rychle jít,
Musí pro duhu hned po dešti.
K obzoru mé nohy běží,
Duha je dál a blíž,
Proč duha z mé touhy těží,
Proč jen mám s duhou takový kříž?
Ve tmě mizí půlka duhy,
Noc můj žal teď dovrší,
Já nechci domů jít,
Duhu musím mít,
Klidně počkám tu, až zaprší.
K obzoru mé nohy běží,
Duha je dál a blíž,
Proč duha z mé touhy těží,
Proč jen mám s duhou takový kříž?

Rainbow, that is a precious fabric,
When the sun shines on it
And the one who wants to have it,
Must go quickly,
Must go for the rainbow right after the rain.
My feet run to the horizon,
The rainbow is far and near,
Why does the rainbow take advantage of my desire,
Why do I have such a cross to bear with the rainbow?
Half of the rainbow disappears in the darkness,
The night now completes my sorrow,
I do not want to go home,
I must have the rainbow,
I will wait here calmly until it rains.
