Like everywhere else in Acadia, we have our own way of speaking
From place to place a different dialect
In Bouctouche in my little corner we can compare ourselves
Not everyone speaks the same but we understand each other

At school I was told that I didn't speak well
The Sagouine and Frank Maillet spoke like me
It was confusing because everyone there was on TV
I mean come on it was still Radio-Canada

They tell me I speak Chiac
Well I'm not speaking Chinese

I'm broke, I'm out of gas, and my car won't start

At school they wanted us to speak French
I think it's about twisting my tongue for nothing
That's how we speak at home and it's not perfect
Well I'm not French I'm Acadian
