Kau bagaikan singa yang mengganas
Membunuh anak perempuanmu
Tanpa rasa belas dan kasihan
Dipandu hati sekeras batu
Jahiliah yang menyesatkan

Bila nur Al-Quran menusuk ke jiwa
Lunturlah segala keangkuhanmu
Berubah dan beralih arahmu
Terbentur segala kekejaman
Menjadi wira miskin nestapa
Membela yang tak berupaya

Tidurmu di rimbunan tamar
Tenangmu tiada tercalar
Berbantal lengan tanpa pengawal
Berselimut embun keimanan

Di malam yang hening
Meratap menyesali diri
Pada dosa kealpaan
Dibasuh dengan air mata
Memohon keampunan Tuhan

Engkau khalifah berjiwa hamba
Mentadbir tanpa singgasana
Menghina diri di hadapan Allah
Kemuliaan diri manusia

Mulia hidup, bersulam takwa
Mulia matimu kau syuhada
Pergi rohmu ke alam tinggi
Terbang menuju ke surgawi

Aku hanya seorang Umar
Kemuliaanku kerana Islam
Semua ke surga kecuali dia
Kubimbangi, dialah diriku?

Tidurmu di rimbunan tamar
Tenangmu tiada tercalar

Meratap menyesali diri
Pada dosa kealpaan
Dibasuh dengan airmata
Memohon keampunan Tuhan

Engkau khalifah berjiwa hamba
Mentadbir tanpa singgasana
Menghina diri di hadapan Allah
Kemuliaan diri manusia

Mulia hidup, bersulam taqwa
Mulia matimu kau syuhada
Pergi rohmu ke alam tinggi
Terbang menuju ke surgawi

Aku hanya seorang Umar
Kemuliaanku kerana Islam
Semua ke surga kecuali dia
Kubimbangi, dialah diriku?

Hati sekeras batu
Berubah menjadi selembut air
Jadi teman kebenaran
Jadi musuh kepada kebatilan

I Am Only Umar

Before the touch of faith's light,
You were a lion, fierce in might,
Killing your own daughter so small,
Without mercy, without a call
Of compassion, a heart of stone,
Jahiliyyah, leading you alone.

When the Quran's light pierced your soul,
Your arrogance began to fall,
Your path shifted, your ways transformed,
Against cruelty, your spirit stormed,
Becoming a hero, poor and distressed,
Defending the weak, putting them first.

You slept 'neath the tamarind trees so tall,
Your peace undisturbed, no fear at all,
Your arm your pillow, no guard in sight,
Covered by faith's gentle light.

In the stillness of the night,
You mourned, repenting with all your might,
For sins and negligence you confessed,
Washed clean by tears, finding blessed
Forgiveness from God above.

You, a caliph with a servant's heart,
Ruling without pomp or royal art,
Humbling yourself before God's throne,
True nobility, clearly shown.

Noble your life, embroidered with piety,
Noble your death, a martyr's destiny,
Your soul ascended to realms so high,
Soaring to paradise, in the sky.

I am only Umar, a man of strife,
My nobility comes from Islam's light,
All will enter paradise, save one soul's plight,
I fear, dear woman, could it be mine tonight?
