Magnificat

All that I am sings of the God who brings new life to birth in me.
My spirit soars on the wings of my Lord.

Who looks upon me in my state, and all the world will call me blest;
For God works marvels in my sight, and holy, holy is God's name.

Whose arm is power and strength, and scatters all the proud of heart;
Who casts the mighty from their thrones and raises up the lowly ones!

Protecting all the faithful ones, remembering Israel with mercy,
The promise known to those before and to their children for ever!

Alles, was ich bin, singt von dem Gott, der neues Leben in mir erweckt, meine Liebste.
Mein Geist erhebt sich auf den Flügeln meines Herrn.

Der mich in meinem Zustand ansieht, und die ganze Welt wird mich selig preisen;
Denn Gott wirkt Wunder vor meinen Augen, und heilig, heilig ist Gottes Name.

Dessen Arm Macht und Stärke ist und alle Stolzen im Herzen zerstreut;
Der die Mächtigen von ihren Thronen stürzt und die Niedrigen erhöht!

Der alle Getreuen beschützt, sich Israels mit Barmherzigkeit erinnert,
Das Versprechen, das denen zuvor und ihren Kindern für immer bekannt ist!
