Quand son aîné s'amouracha
D'une rémouleuse en guenilles
L'ancien lui dit "Tu choisiras
Ou ta part ou la fille"

Le fils déshérité choisit
Et la pauvreté et l'amour
Les autres s'en allèrent aussi
La mère mourut un jour

Triste et orgueilleux
Vit seul avec
Son vieux berger
Les terres
Tout lui appartient
Mais plus d'enfant
Pour voir vieillir l'ancien
