Dejó Carranza pasar americanos,
Diez mil soldados, seiscientos aeroplanos,
Buscando a Villa por todo el país.
Los de a caballo no se podían sentar
Y los de a pie no podían caminar
Entonces Villa los pasa en aeroplanos
Y desde arriba les dice good bye.
Comenzaron a volar los aeroplanos
Entonces Villa un gran plan les formó
Se vistió de soldado americano
Y a sus tropas también las transformó.
Mas cuando vieron los gringos las maderas
Con muchas barras que Villa les pintó
Se bajaron con todo y aeroplanos
Y Pancho Villa prisioneros los tomó.
Todas las gentes en Chihuahua y Ciudad Juarez
Muy asustada y asombrada se quedó
De ver tanto gringo y carrancista
Que Pancho Villa en los postes les colgó.
Qué se creían los soldados de Texas
Que combatir era un baile de carquiz.
Con la cara llena de vergüenza
Se regresaron todos a su país.
Yo les encargo mis fieles compañeros
Que se estén firmes al pie de su cañón
Que disparen la última metralla
Para defensa de nuestra nación!

Our Mexico, February 23rd

My Mexico, February twenty-third,
Carranza allowed the Americans to pass,
Ten thousand soldiers, six hundred airplanes,
Searching for Villa throughout the land.
The ones on horseback could not sit down
And the ones on foot could not walk
So Villa flew them in airplanes
And shouted good bye from above.
The airplanes began to fly
So Villa created a grand plan
He dressed up as an American soldier
And transformed his troops as well.
When the Americans saw the crude
With lots of bars that Villa painted on them
They got out even with the airplanes
And Pancho Villa took them prisoner.
All the people in Texas and Maine
Were scared and surprised
To see so many Americans and Carrancista
That Pancho Villa had hung on the poles.
What did the soldiers of Texas believe
That fighting was a dance of carquiz?
With their faces full of shame
They all returned to their country.
I ask of you my faithful comrades
That you stand firm at the foot of your cannon
That you fire the final round
For the defense of our nation!
