The light inside the labyrinth,
The map where it's hidden,
The sea where promises burn,
Where you used to be shipwrecked.

One hundred days hiding from the gray
March sky and its gridlock,
Swallowing fog through her nose,
Dreaming about you in the bathrooms,
Swearing not to make it out alive,
Sealing all the exits,
Looking for a beach to run aground on
In an ocean of gin.

She kissed a glass filled with
Ashes, looked at me,
She gave me the smoke from her fingertips,
I smoked it. In return I
Told her that the city
Was waiting for her,
That honeysuckle was falling outside,
That summer was approaching,
That what would become of us
If she decided not to come with me,
That she should come out and defy
The dawn and its assassins.
That's what I told her.

She smiled, tired and lost,
Her blue mouth opened.
She kissed the glass again,
She left and all of her light
Was swallowed up by the door to a restroom
Where soulless women push you towards the abyss.
It will be one hundred and one days
Closeted in the blackness of this bar,
I went out into the street and forgot to pay.
And I left.
