La realidad termina donde acaba el espejismo.

Mientras otros trazaban el futuro.

Pero a veces
Sueño con romper el muro, el espejismo.
El mundo duele menos si te miro.
A veces dudo de estar cuerdo, más aún,
De estar vivo.
Intuyo que más allá del espejismo,
Más allá de este único camino,
Existen nuevos paisajes,
Futuro escondido,
Tantas cosas por nombrar,
Tantas por hacer,
Todas contigo.

Un día despertamos entre gritos.
Se derrumbaron muros, diferencias
Y mercados.
Vimos resquebrajarse la fachada
Sólida del espejismo.

Y todo aquello que un día fue un eco lejano
Se instaló en nuestro barrio. Y la serpiente
De la realidad
Descubrió la mentira y nos echó
De aquel falso paraíso.

Supimos de la lucha y de la tragedia ajena,
De la vergüenza no televisada.
Miramos a los ojos a la historia, el fin del mundo

Por fin se ha roto el muro, el espejismo,

Ya no dudo: no estoy cuerdo, más aún, estoy vivo.

The Mirage

We lived in a candid mirage.
Naive, we submissively devoured
Illusions
Created for our invented

And amidst ads reminding us
That we were happy, a shot
Of reality
Spoke of explosions, of storms,
Of war and hunger.

But it was a faint echo, very distant, somewhat diffuse.
Reality ends where the mirage ends.
Content with fear and in debt, we slept
While others charted the future.

But sometimes
I dream of breaking the wall, the mirage.
The world hurts less when I look at you.
Sometimes I doubt being sane, even more,
Being alive.
I sense that beyond the mirage,
Beyond this single path,
There are new landscapes,
Hidden future,
So many things to name,
So much to do,
All with you.

One day we woke up amidst screams.
Walls, differences
And markets collapsed.
We saw the solid facade
Of the mirage crumble.

And all that was once a distant echo
Settled in our neighborhood. And the serpent
Of reality
Uncovered the lie and cast us out
From that false paradise.

We learned of the struggle and the tragedy of others,
Of the shame not televised.
We looked into the eyes of history, the end of the world
Only begins when it reaches home.

And now that
The wall, the mirage, has finally broken,
The world hurts less when I look at you.
I no longer doubt: I'm not sane, even more, I'm alive.
Now I know that beyond the mirage,
Beyond this single path,
There are new landscapes,
Hidden future,
So many things to name,
So many things to do,

After the storm, we must reinvent the world,
Even if some today wish to build another mirage.
