Tret' hinaus in die stechende Nachtluft
Hämmernde Reste vom Regen im blechernden Abfluss

Strömende Angst tritt in den Trakt meines Magens
Ich geh schneller, steck Zigarette an, hol den Stadtplan raus
Vergleich die Straßennamen, sehe ich bin fast am Haus
Sieh die Nummern an den Türen, geh ein Stückchen weiter
Passier eine von Sträuchern geschützte Einfahrt

I take one last gulp of vodka
And pack the bottle in my backpack
Glancing at the watch
I see the sluggishly flowing mass as a blurred contour
Stepping out into the piercing night air
Pounding remnants of rain in the tinny drain
And I follow the pale shimmering streets
Flowing anxiety enters the tract of my stomach
I walk faster, light a cigarette, take out the city map
Compare the street names, I see I'm almost at the house
See the numbers on the doors, go a little further
Pass a driveway sheltered by bushes
