Tiene su gracia levantarse de la cama,
Un cigarrito, un cafetito, unas galletas
Y después otro cigarrito. Y alguien llama
Y con su voz insoslayable va y me dice: "Haz las maletas".

Y es ella, claro, que es un puro disparate
Que un día sí y otro también me ata a su carro,
Carro de amor y a la vez carro de combate.
Y me preparo a discutir mientras enciendo otro cigarro.

Otro cigarro que aún no es

Cuelgo el teléfono y me quedo pensativo.
Y lo descuelgo y ahora soy yo quien la llama
Y comunica, no es posible. Y ya no vivo.
Y qué le pasa a este maldito encendedor que no da llama.

En la cocina hay una caja de cerillas
Y, ya no paso. otro café. Mira que es terca,
Esta mujer me sacará de mis casillas.
Salgo a la calle a ver si un taxi permisivo a ella me acerca.

Y hoy que pensaba, describiendo algún enredo,
Ir con mis letras tras la gloria de Cervantes,
Héteme aquí, tras la glorieta de Quevedo.
Por culpa de ella mis valores, que se dice, son tan cambiantes.

Me abre la puerta y me habla así -momentos graves-:
"No quiero ser más el reposo del guerrero
Sino el afán del desertor, y tú lo sabes".
Y conversamos y llenamos de colillas el cenicero.

Al fin quedamos en silencio y, cara a cara,
Desembocamos entre el humo en el deseo.
Y aunque la clara situación no quede clara...

En la pared dos siluetas lentamente
Acariciándose se borran la memoria
Con ese afán del desertor que me pedía la muy exigente.
