Ils racontent ce qu'ils ont su, d'un autre qui est bien connu
Un autre qui est très bien vu quand ils n'ont rien su ils inventent

Quand ils ont lu Tintin, Prévert, quand ils ont écrit quatre vers
On les consacre reporters dans la mode ou la politique
Quand ils n'ont plus assez d'idées on les met aux chiens égarés
Quand y'en a plus ils sont mutés, on les met aux rangs des critiques
As-tu vu mon papier tout frais c'est presque du papier monnaie
Est-ce que tu connais Bossuet, tout à fait moi moins la légende
C'est pas du mou, c'est du brutal et puis ça fera original
J'avais mal à mon piédestal quand on monte plus y faut descendre

Pour les comprendre il faut les voir, le moins souvent mais certains soirs
Surtout quand ils jouent l'épluchoir aux soirées des grandes premières

Ils feignent de comprendre tout mais s'ennuient comme au cimetière
Et leurs critiques terminées, il faut les voir se corriger
Faisant toute objectivité comme s'ils avaient payé leurs places
Et le lendemain au matin vous la trouverez dans un coin
Une à la deux et deux fois rien, question de goût, question d'espace

Quand on sait tout on ne sait rien, je sais peu mais je le sais bien
J'ai appris dans un quotidien toutes les lois fondamentales
J'ai appris ce que je savais, le moins c'est faux, le plus c'est vrai
Le plus c'est gros plus c'est épais, le moins c'est blanc, le plus c'est sale
Quand vous écouterez ma chanson ne sautez pas aux conclusions
Sachez que vous faites exception et que gagner sa vie c'est triste

When they run out of ideas, they put them on to stray dogs
When there are no more, they are transferred, they are put in the ranks of critics
