Le Coq du Ciel

Carlos Saragosa a quitté sa maison de Casas Grandes un soir de pleine lune.
Il n'avait pas d'argent en poche, juste un médaillon avec le portrait de sa sœur encadré d'or.
Il s'est dirigé vers El Sueco et a volé un coq nommé Gallo Del Cielo.
Puis il a traversé le Rio Grande avec le coq serré dans ses bras.

Gallo del Cielo était un guerrier né au paradis, d'après la légende.
Ses ailes avaient été brisées, et il avait un œil qui tournait follement dans sa tête.
Il avait livré une centaine de combats, et la légende raconte qu'une nuit, près d'El Sueco,
Il a combattu Cielo sept fois, et sept fois il a laissé des coqs courageux morts sur le sable.
