A woman in the shadow and a man in a suit
A cutaway shot of the avenue

So he stands by a rake as the camera pans across
Then he checks his watch, cause he feels like time has stopped
There's a street where they almost meet, this is the place
Then we come to the scene where we almost see her face
And the telephone rings
She swims in the lake, as the shadow on the wall in the final take
Cigarette smoke and somebody spoke
And the lights go up and the cinema's closed
