With "Right Here Right Now" um-
We started out with the production first
Dem joined to produce it
And I was just immediately taken by the track
It just felt so different than anything that I had heard
And um, I really um, like I love stuff like that

I love being able to hear things, and it just piques my interest
And I'm like "Oh okay, that's different" um, so it took a while
We had the track for a while before we kinda were like
"Okay, let's try and write something to it"
'Cause the track was just so amazing and so intricate
James Fauntleroy came in
And he uh- wrote "No Air", my amazing, amazing single
That I have been so blessed to be able to sing for the past eight years
And I will for the rest of my life

He came in and literally did the song in two hours
Like he was just in the booth
And he was in there for so long
And I couldn't see him 'cause the lights were turned off
He was in there for so long
At one point, I like looked at my manager and was like, "Is he okay?"
Um, but he's absolutely incredible, and I love the song

The song is basically saying like
I wanna know what would happen if we kissed right now
You know, I'm sure there've been a ton of people that have been in um
I don't know, any type of venue, at a bar um
You know the dance floor, or seeing someone at the library

It could be anywhere, but you make eye contact with that person
And that thought goes through your head like
I wonder what would happen if right now
Like we were able to kiss or talk or our hands to touch
And that's what I love about this song um
And I also just love the big international feel of it
And also being able to experiment with my voice um
And being able to sing in a different place, um
People are so used to hearing me belt

It's been really nice to be able to just kind of experiment in other places
Um so yeah, I really, really love this song
And I thought that this would be perfect
You know, it's very different from what people have heard from me before um
But I love it

Mit "Right Here Right Now" ähm...
Wir haben zuerst mit der Produktion angefangen.
Dem Jointz hat es produziert.
Und ich war sofort von dem Track begeistert.
Es fühlte sich so anders an als alles, was ich bisher gehört hatte.
Und ähm, ich wirklich ähm, also ich liebe so etwas.

Ich liebe es, Dinge zu hören, und es weckt einfach mein Interesse.
Und ich denke mir: "Oh okay, das ist anders" ähm, es hat eine Weile gedauert.
Wir hatten den Track eine Weile, bevor wir uns dachten:
"Okay, lass uns versuchen, etwas dazu zu schreiben."
Weil der Track einfach so fantastisch und so komplex war.
James Fauntleroy kam dazu.
Und er ähm... schrieb "No Air", meine unglaubliche, unglaubliche Single.
Die ich in den letzten acht Jahren so gesegnet war, singen zu dürfen.
Und ich werde es für den Rest meines Lebens tun.

Er kam rein und hat den Song buchstäblich in zwei Stunden gemacht.
Also, er war einfach in der Kabine.
Und er war so lange da drin.
Und ich konnte ihn nicht sehen, weil die Lichter ausgeschaltet waren.

Irgendwann schaute ich meinen Manager an und fragte: "Ist er okay?"
Ähm, aber er ist absolut unglaublich, und ich liebe den Song.

Der Song sagt im Grunde:
Ich möchte wissen, was passieren würde, wenn wir uns jetzt küssen würden.
Weißt du, ich bin sicher, es gab eine Menge Leute, die schon mal ähm...
Ich weiß nicht, in irgendeiner Art von Lokal, in einer Bar ähm...
Weißt du, auf der Tanzfläche, oder jemanden in der Bibliothek gesehen haben.

Es könnte überall sein, aber du hast Augenkontakt mit dieser Person.
Und dieser Gedanke geht dir durch den Kopf, wie:
Ich frage mich, was passieren würde, wenn wir uns jetzt
küssen oder reden würden oder unsere Hände sich berühren würden.
Und das liebe ich an diesem Song ähm...
Und ich liebe auch einfach das große internationale Gefühl davon.
Und auch, dass ich mit meiner Stimme experimentieren kann ähm...
Und an einem anderen Ort singen kann, ähm...
Die Leute sind es so gewohnt, mich laut singen zu hören.

Es war wirklich schön, einfach in anderen Bereichen experimentieren zu können.
Ähm, ja, ich liebe diesen Song wirklich, wirklich sehr.
Und ich dachte, das wäre perfekt.
Weißt du, es ist ganz anders als das, was die Leute bisher von mir gehört haben ähm...
Aber ich liebe es.
