How the waves carried me

A life like, I'm not running things like here
One way street
Shipped far away, I didn't have a voice round here
But that was clear

Hush, I wont make them forgot me
Wish them all harm in the night
Chains led me think, near to breaking
But every step prepared me for this

Made me head for the hills
Don't doubt that this is all worth it
Don't wanna lose me in the end
I escaped, to only come back

Stayed on my toes, I kept my head down
And slept with one eye open
While they turned blind, I plotted to fly
Made my wings with leaves
