En el caballo más bueno que tenía entre sus caballos

Ese otro día madrugo para llega más temprano
Pasó por Puerto Nariño y no se habían levantado
Después llegó a Saravena y estaban en lo que era palo
Porque ese día celebraban los 20 años de fundado
Del municipio más joven y el que más ha progresado
Y el más famoso en la historia de los pueblos Colombianos

Señores en tierra extraña el llanero es reservado, muy reservado
Pero con este llanero, les quedo para pensarlo
Este hombre del pillio, esos de la hiel colgando
De los que hacen la pelea, así nomas al soltarlos
La gente que lo veía, decía que era un Araucano
Y ese viene es a colear, porque vino remontado
Las muchachas cual primera quería montar en su caballo
Y el hombre las complacía con un cariño espontaneo
Porque hay mismo se di cuenta, que estaban expirementandolo

Llego la hora del coleo, los coleadores coleando
Cuando lo toco su turno, soltaron un toro sardo

Un tumbe espectacular, que nunca lo habían mirado
Porque el toro se paró, volvió y cayó mancornado
Berreaba como un becerro, el pobre bicho asustado
Hay pelo por la cobija y se desmonto a torearlo
Después lo coleo de a pies, ese hombre se volvió el diablo
No fue el primer coleador por cuestiones del jurado
Pero si el mejor llanero, también el mejor caballo
Desde esa fecha pa' ca quedo este dicho sonando
