Enkeli taivaan lausui näin:
"Miks hämmästyitte säikähtäin?
Mä suuren ilon ilmoitan
Maan kansoille nyt tulevan.

Herramme Kristus teille nyt
On tänään tänne syntynyt.
Ja tää on teille merkiksi:
Seimessä lapsi makaapi."

Nyt Jumalalle kunnia,
Kun antoi ainoon Poikansa.
Siit enkelitkin riemuiten
Veisaavat hälle kiitoksen.

Angel of Heaven

The angel of heaven spoke thus:
"Why are you so astonished and frightened?
I proclaim great joy
To the peoples of the earth to come.

Our Lord Christ is now born to you
He is born here today.
And this is the sign for you:
a child lying in a manger."

Now glory to God,
Who gave his only Son.
From that the angels also rejoicing
We sing praise to him.
