We zitten aan tafel en zeggen geen woord tegeneen
Zaterdagmorgen, met tweeën, en eigelak alleen
De koffe sta kleer en de pot konfituur van 't ontbijt
De radio speelt wer dezelfsten brol als altijd

Ik kuis onze lada, straks rijen we nor den bazar
Zaterdagmiddag, dan vullen we samen ons kar
Den avond die valt, de merels die fluiten oep 't dak
Zij belt nog heur moeder, ik lees mijn gazet oep 't gemak

De buren gaan uit, wij zitten oep de canapee
Zaterdagavond, en wer gin knijt oep den TV
Wij liggen in bed, en draaien ons gat nor mekaar
Zaterdagnacht, wij vierden vandaag ons vijf jaar

Saturday

We sit at the table and don't say a word to each other
Saturday morning, just the two of us, and entirely alone
The coffee is ready and the jar of jam from breakfast
The radio plays the same old crap as always

I clean our car, soon we'll drive to the bazaar
Saturday afternoon, then we'll fill our cart together
As evening falls, the blackbirds whistle on the roof
She still calls her mother, I read my newspaper at ease

The neighbors go out, we sit on the couch
Saturday evening, and again no sound on the TV
We lie in bed, and turn our backs to each other
Saturday night, today we celebrated our five years
