어 이번에 보내드릴 곡은 2부 첫 곡으로
나른한 오후'라고 하는 곡입니다
이 얘기 하기 전에 제가 그 이야기를,
꼭 하는 이야기가 있는데,
아마 제 공연 전에 한번 오셨던 분들은
아마 아실 겁니다
모르시는 분들을 위해서 하까요 마까요?
네 하겠습니다 (흐흐흐) 계획대로 됐습니다
3년 전이었지요 겨레의 노래 공연이라고
지방을 이곳 저곳 다니면서 했던 공연이 있습니다
그때 후배가 쉬는 시간인데
끼리끼리 삼삼오오 이렇게 모여서 그냥 한적하게
시간 때우고 있는데, 후배가 이렇게 다가오더니
재미난 얘기 해줄게 이러면서 이야기를 꺼냈습니다
나른한 오후였는데 손도 까딱하기 싫어서
방에 그냥 가만히 있었답니다
근데, 난데 없이 파리가 한 마리,
좀 큼지막한 놈으로 들어와서 이곳 저곳
살피다가 마땅히 앉을 곳을 찾지 못했던지
바로 앉은 곳이 오른쪽 입가에 앉더랍니다
가만 생각하니까 얘가 맨날 이런 데만 앉는 애가
아니라는 걸 알게 되었지요 다른 데도 앉는 애구나
손도 까딱하기 싫더랍니다 나른한 오후기 때문에
그래서 후하고 불었대요 그랬는데
이번엔 또 왼쪽입가에 앉더랍니다

이러면서 막 웃었습니다 막 웃다 보니까
괜히 허탈해지더군요 예의 그 학교 다닐 때
특히나 여름방학 때 그 다른 친구들
어디 갔다 오기는 했지만 그래도 또 다른 친구들은
저 집에 있는 동안에 또 어디로 가버리고
어디 갈 데도 없고 그저 방에서 이리 뒹굴,
저리 뒹굴 방글라데시 하던 때가 생각이 나더군요
그래 그 무료하게 보냈던 시간이며
사람들 사이에서 이렇게 많은 사람들
사이에 있으면서도 괜히 뜬금없이 찾아오는 외로움,
고독감 막상 뭐 친한 친구를 만나도
익숙한 탓이었는지 별반 뭐, 색다른 것이 없고
금방 싫증 나게 되고
뭐 그런 경험들이 생각이 나더라구요
그래서 노래로 만들어 보았습니다
나른한 오후라는 제목 하에
그래서 그때 그 재미난 이야기를 해준 후배가
요즘 모 TV 방송에 자주 나옵니다
그, 노영심의 작은 음악회란 건데
자주 나오는 노영심양이었습니다
그래서 만나서 야 나 나른한 오후라고
노래 만들었다 그랬더니 그럼, 파리도 나와?
그러더군요 안 나와 그랬는데,
또 처지는 노랩니다

The Story Four ("Life Story" Album Recording)

The next song I will present to you is the first song of the second part,
called "A Lazy Afternoon".
Before I tell you this story, there is a story I must tell,
always tell before this one.
Those of you who have been to my previous concerts
might already know it.
For those who don't, shall I tell you or not?
Yes, I will (chuckles) Okay, as planned
Three years ago, there was a concert called "Songs of the People",
where we went around different cities and performed.
During one of those breaks,
me and my junior were gathered in a group of three or five,
just killing time when he came up to me
and said he had a funny story to tell me.
It was such a lazy afternoon and I didn't feel like lifting a finger,
so I just stayed still in my room.
Suddenly, a fly,
A rather large one, came in,
and after looking around for a place to land,
it settled right on the corner of my mouth.
As I thought about it more, I realized it's not the type that
only lands on dirty places, so it must have landed there by mistake.
I still didn't feel like moving because it was such a lazy afternoon,
so I just blew at it gently. It then moved to
the corner of my other mouth.

I tried to sniff it out.
I heard the audience laughing and I thought, "Wow, that's great."
But as I continued to laugh,
I suddenly felt empty. It reminded me of the time
when I was in school, especially during summer vacation.
Most of my friends went somewhere,
and the ones that stayed home also went out,
leaving me with nothing to do but roll around in my room
like a Bangladeshi.
I thought back to that time I spent doing nothing,
and the loneliness I felt even when I was surrounded
by so many people; it would hit me out of nowhere,
that feeling of solitude. Even if I met close friends,
perhaps because I was so used to them,
I didn't feel anything different,
and I would get bored quickly.
I recalled many experiences like that.
That's why I wrote this song,
called "A Lazy Afternoon".
The junior who told me that funny story
now frequently appears on a certain TV show.
It's called "Noh Young-shim's Small Concert".
Yes, it's the famous Noh Young-shim.
So when we met, I told her, "Hey, I wrote a song called
"A Lazy Afternoon". And she asked, "Does it include the fly?"
I said, "No," and we both laughed,
and that's how it goes.
