A mere good life doesn't embody it
She talks about the leaf
As if it were a bystander to the tragedy
I think it's more
The leaf has blood that doesn't belong to it
From a body that wasn't here before it
But it will hold that blood
A mark-it of the horror
The leaf isn't symbolic it's always meant more than we think
Because somehow we're more important than it
Self centered
The blood's on the leaves like Nina said
Our product of impurity
Killing one another
And the leaf receives the aftermath
The only message we sort of understand

Ich habe mich immer gefragt, warum Nina sagte, Blut sei auf den Blättern,
als wir an den Bäumen hingen.
Vielleicht trug die Liebe zum Detail zu der Bildsprache bei.
Dieser Gedanke,
nicht nur, rein das Menschliche.
Vielleicht, weil der Mensch nicht rein und pur ist.
Keiner von uns ist rein und pur.
Eine bloße gute Tat macht es nicht besser.
Ein bloß gutes Leben verkörpert es nicht.
Sie spricht über das Blatt,
als wäre es ein unbeteiligter Zuschauer der Tragödie.
Ich denke, es ist mehr.
Das Blatt hat Blut, das ihm nicht gehört,
von einem Körper, der vorher nicht hier war.
Aber es wird dieses Blut behalten,
ein Zeichen des Grauens.
Das Blatt ist nicht symbolisch, es hat immer mehr bedeutet, als wir denken,
weil wir irgendwie wichtiger sind als es.
Egozentrisch.
Das Blut ist auf den Blättern, wie Nina sagte.
Unser Produkt der Unreinheit,
wir töten einander.
Und das Blatt empfängt die Nachwirkungen,
die einzige Botschaft, die wir ansatzweise verstehen.
Rot.
