Come, Holy Ghost, Creator blest
And in our souls take up thy rest
Come with thy grace and heavenly aid
To fill the hearts which thou hast made.

O comforter of sovereign might
Who proceedest from God's own light
The living spring, the living fire
The soul of love in souls inspire.

Our sevenfold gifts thou dost impart
Thy blessed unction from above
Is comfort, life, and fire of love
And holy zest in works of love.

Enlighten our clouded minds with light
Infuse our hearts with love and right
That we may ever cleave to thee
And dwell with thee eternally.

Drive far from us the foe we dread
And grant us thy peace instead
