Und du fürchtest dich, weil die Gespenster
Dir deinen Schatten stehlen von der Wand.

Und der ist dir doch als einziger geblieben
Und auch ein Päckchen Aspirin.
Noch ein Tagebuch, da steht geschrieben:
Ich habe Dir verziehn.

Manchmal träumst du noch davon,
Mit ihm zu reden,
Doch du hast ein Bild von dir,
Das mußt du leben.

Dann verblassen dir auch bald
Die Fantasien.
Ach, die hätt er dir auch sicher nie
Verziehn.

Ein Hochzeitskleid verstaubt im Schrank
Und ein paar Glückwunschkarten,
Die ebenso wie du
Auf Wunder warten.

Und das war's dann auch:
Ein ganzes Leben -
Nur an dich hast du es nie
Vergeben.

Und dann sitzt du irgendwann vor deinem Fenster,
Mit starren Augen, Strickzeug in der Hand,
