دیگه چیزی نمونده به عیــــد نوروز
ننه سرما که رفته, بهار تو راه امروز

تو فــکر ســفره نو برای هــفـت سـیـن
واسه پیشواز نوروز, این جشن شیرین

یه تنگ ماهـی یه شـمع روشن
با سیب و سکه سُفر رو چیدن

سبـزه رو میزه, آینــه و شمعــدون
بالای طاقچست, گلدون تو ایوون

یـادمـه اون قـدیـما تو کـلاس پـای تــخـتـه
روزهارو مینوشتیم تا که کم بشه یک روز

حالا عیده و نوروز, میاد به جمع عمو نوروز
با یـه دایـــره زنـگـــی, میــخـــونـه هـــر روز

عمو نوروزه, سالی یه روزه, دنیا دو روزه, عید نوروز

بازم باغچه میپوشه رختهای رنگی
ببین سفر رو چیده به این قشنگی

بازم قاشق زن اومد شب در خونه
آره چارشنبه سوری رنگین کمونه

بیار خرمن بُته آتیش به پا کن
بپر از آتــیش شــادیو صدا کن

چارشنبه سوری شب تا سحر رنگ
هــمه میخــونـن با شــعـر و آهـنــگ

یـادمـه اون قـدیـما تو کـلاس پـای تــخـتـه

Nowruz (Persian New Year)

Soon it will be Eid-e-Nooruz
Mother Winter has left, Spring is on its way today

You think of a new tablecloth for the Haft-Sin
To welcome Nowruz, this auspicious celebration

A goldfish bowl and a burning candle
With apple and coins the table is set

The sprouts on the table, mirror and candleholder
On the shelf, a flower pot on the balcony

I remember back in the day in class at the blackboard
We would mark off the days until one was left

Now it is Eid and Nowruz, Uncle Nooroz is joining in
With a ringing tambourine, he sings every day

Uncle Noorooz, once a year, the world is transient, Eid-e-Nooruz

Once again the garden wears its colourful clothes
Look at the table, set so beautifully

Again the woman with the spoon has come to the door in the night
Yes, Wednesday Suri is a rainbow

Bring a pile of scrub and start a fire
Jump over the fire, happiness and noise

Wednesday Suri night till dawn colour
Everyone sings with poetry and music
