One sits across the river, silently listening to the water flow, wondering where it goes
I sit here, watching the flowers drift, carried away by the current, to some unknown place
The rain falls, falls endlessly, the stream overflows with sorrow
We promised to meet across the river, hoping for the quick end of the monsoon season

Life has placed a deep ocean between us, two lovers
