He wore top-of-the-line sneakers
Had clothes he hardly wore
He never went to school
At 12 he was already smoking, he was going off the rails

He started hanging out with older friends
Who of course gave him bad advice
Being with them he learned some things, the first was
Coming home late
And he lost respect for his mother
Who cried inconsolably
Who knows what will become of that spoiled boy

Hanging out with those slackers
Forgetting all the love his mother gives him

Over time he grew up and stopped being
The little boy they were teaching wrong
With his friends he started to try
Bad things he should never have tried
His mother watched him, she wasn't stupid, it was obvious
That he was taking drugs
His family was worried because sometimes

That boy wouldn't sleep at home
His friends taught him to steal
And even how to use a gun

But it didn't last long for him
Because of his lack of experience
And so they caught him
And today, where are his friends?
They left him stranded
And so he's behind bars
With regrets and tormented
Remembering the love his mother gave him
