如矢車菊般藍色的深海，
水草如樹葉波光中搖擺。
輕盈明朗得似一個水泡，
她浮出了純真的海。
她失去了天地間最美麗的歌喉，
換來生出雙腳踏上陸地的自由，
於是她站在了深愛的王子身旁，
盡管每一步都好像在尖刀上行走。

仰望著大理石像般的臉，
她難忘那夜風暴的海面。
無法用聲音表達愛戀，
她只剩可以說話的雙眼。

每一夜她獨自望向孤單的深海，
渴望著王子有天終於會明白。
每一天能得到更多一點的愛，

她跳著如同刀割的足尖舞，
想起初見王子時煙火絢麗一幕。
犧牲的代價注定被辜負，
癡情變作她作繭自縛的喪服。

Mermaid's Tale

In a deep sea, the blue of cornflowers,
Seaweed sways like leaves in shimmering light.
Light and bright, like a bubble so fair,
She rose from the innocent sea, my dear.
She lost the most beautiful voice in all creation,
To gain the freedom of legs and earthly station.
So she stood by the prince, her beloved one,
Though each step felt like walking on sharp knives, my love.

Gazing at his face, like a marble design,
She remembered the stormy sea that night, divine.
Unable to voice her love, her heart's desire,
Only her speaking eyes could express the fire.

Every night she looked out to the lonely deep,
Longing for the day her prince would understand and keep.
Hoping for a little more love each day's decree,
She waited in sweet agony, silently.

She danced on pointe, each step a cutting blade,
Remembering the fireworks when she first saw the prince's parade.
The sacrifice she made, destined to be betrayed,
Her love became her mourning shroud, self-made.

On the final night, she cast the knives into the spray,
Waiting for the dying embers of dawn's first ray.
One last look at the prince, then come what may,
She leaped into the sea, becoming foam, a mermaid's love astray.
