Happiness

What is happiness, I wonder?
I looked at you beside me,
We’ve known each other for quite a while,
but it’s still fun.

On our days off we go shopping,
carrying many bags of things.
We sit at the same table,
and eat delicious food.

You get tired from walking,
and doze off on the bench.
You work hard every day.

When you’re here and smiling,
I look around for happiness,
and find it right beside me.

It may seem like ordinary days,
but those days
are the warmest,
and that’s what happiness is.

You run around giving me trouble,
my dear little boy, as you grow up,
there will be less and less time like this,

You’ll make more friends,
study and work part time,
