Es un árbol solitario, en un sitio olvidado de la mano de los hombres, y quizás de la de dios.
Su cuerpo retorcido no alza los brazos donde antes descansaban las aves que buscaban recobrar su fuerza en él.
Por eso aguarda ahora el rayo tan temido en su juventud, para que haga un nido en él la luz del fuego, que le lleve hacia el dios que le olvidó,

Y es que el árbol que allí vive ve cómo su sangre
Se envejece, mientras en sus ramas sólo crece el fruto de la soledad.
Y es tan débil su regazo, que allí ninguna madre anida ya. su hojarasca no es ya tan tupida como lo fue cuando ofrecía sombra al peregrino.
Por eso aguarda ahora el rayo tan temido en su juventud, para que haga un nido en él la luz del fuego, que le lleve hacia el dios que le olvidó,

Solitary Tree

It is a solitary tree, in a place forgotten by men, and perhaps by God.
Its twisted body no longer raises its arms where birds once rested to regain their strength in it.
That is why it now awaits the lightning so feared in its youth, so that the light of fire may nest in it, leading it to the God who forgot it,
