My fingers hold a needle I found in a haystack
I gaze through its eye - a falcon in the sky
I gaze into the river and see a fish that blocks its way
I gaze into the forest and see a tree covered in axe marks
Through the eye of the needle, I hear the voices of the world
Fire crackles, bells chime, and ashes fall
I turn the needle in my fingers, its sharp point facing me
I collect a drop of human blood
Man, transformed into darkness, searches his eyes for light
A dark trail of smoke blurs his eyelids
He cupped his hands and caught only a pinch of salt from the light
