I behold the view of Halepiowai,
I see the beauty of Maui Isle,

My thoughts are focused on one thing,
To see the beautiful wreath of Maihi flowers,

I am a sea urchin from Kona,
From the calm sea in the reef,

I am a red feather and a Hawaiian,
In the magnificent feather cloak,

I praise the beauty of that bird,
On the beautiful slopes of Haleakala,

Your cliffs are ever-changing,
The mountain peaks are looking at me,

From the sound of the water and the cliffs,
My mind thinks of my homeland;

The refrain is being sung,
I am a red feather and a Hawaiian.
