Yesterday, I dreamed of Dino Campana
With the ghost of Ophelia in the pale moon
And they exchanged their eyes, to better understand the world
The lenses of tears, the lenses of fire

He did not want peace and he did not want war
He only wanted to cast that bridge between infinity and earth
He did not want a love to shelter himself from the sky
So he descended into hell to save himself from the cold

Yesterday, I dreamed of Dino Campana
Descending from the Falterona
A distant star falling near him
And covering that black mountain with blood

And we read Dino Campana's fate
In the darkest lights, in the brightest shadows
From a mother's distant childhood sorrow
To his short life, to his long death

He did not want peace and he did not want war
He only wanted to cast that bridge between infinity and earth
He did not want a love to shelter himself from the sky
So he descended into hell to save himself from the cold
He never won the Nobel Prize
Or any other prize
But he was a pure poet with secret
Immense waves
And he died in an asylum, forgotten by the days
When too many electroshocks burned his dreams
