La poesia non è brandire scettro
Non ti ho letto ma cantato
Di note senza fiato
Rese vive dal ricordo dell'accordo stipulato
Fra l′Apollo e le sue rime

Io musico te soltanto e mentre canto
La mia pelle sembra frigger come burro
Dentro suoni di padelle
Questa è un'arte tua e del tuo bell'eroe francese
Lui altro mai non chiese che una donna da salvare
E invece è me soltanto che ha salvato, che ha salvato

Musico te soltanto perché solo fosti vivo
Solo quanto adesso chiuso fra parentesi di un rigo

Like sand in the arena
You are greater than me
Poetry is not about wielding a scepter
I have not read you but sung you
With notes without breath
Made alive by the memory of the agreement made
Between Apollo and his rhymes

I play music for you only and as I sing
My skin seems to fry like butter
Inside the sounds of pans
This is an art of yours and of your beautiful French hero
